for more than 10 years I am learning Amharic, the official language of Ethiopia, the country of origin of my beloved wife. I love this language and I am willing to reach perfection one day but I am still far from it…
Until today I reached the level of fluent speaking and I can read and write it. My motivaton is to be able to communicate with people and to learn from people. Language is an important key to open new worlds of understanding and interpretation of life.
My aim is to function as an intercultural translater. I only see one kind of one human race on this planet which consists of people who are very similar and still totally different…
Here is a little work i did. I am reading the first chapter of an ethiopian children`s story in amharic. My focus was on pronounciation and reading as fluent as possible. Next time I will try to do it better. I added short subtitles in English.
